This is hilarious.
This was a an really fun, weird experience. Noam, Chris and Rob Getzchman (editor) all did amazing work.
I shot this piece as part of a series for for Matt Besser. If you like improv, you’ll probably like it. It features some of UCB’s funniest improvisers, and they were absolutely hilarious. You’ll notice plenty of camera shakes that came about for two reasons:
1) These pieces were done as super long takes. One of the sections was 40 minutes of straight handheld operating.
2) Chris VanArtsdalen (the other camera op) and I were laughing for almost the entire time.
This is a really funny series and an interesting way to approach comedy sketches. If you put 10 people this talented in a room and let them improvise for an hour or two, you’ll get some really amazing, honest stuff, and I think it should be done more often.
