I think in 2010, we should all gather together and pick one couple, then vote on whether or not we should revoke their marriage license.
I mean, I know they’re legally allowed to get married in whatever state they live in already, but it needs to be put to the people. And wouldn’t it be super fun to take part in democracy and decide?
Afterward, we could all wear our “I VOTED” stickers and know that we did our part, we made our voices heard. And while the couple signs their divorce papers and hopes that neither of them get terminally ill, we could all throw election parties and drink mixed drinks (but not beer because it makes me bloated and not wine because it makes me sleepy).
Oh hey! Nobody bring mixers and those red plastic cups, because I have some at home I can bring. Also, people can totally crash at my place if they get too tired and drunk from all the celebrating of voting on this couple’s marriage. I have some air mattresses and people can sleep on the floor, too. This will be a night to remember!
Ooookay, you know what? Let’s get the ball rolling: I nominate the couple above. They showed up on the first page when I Googled “married couple”. Good enough for me!
